Subtle, somber notes at Porter Grey
The first presentation to take to the Box at Lincoln Center this morning, Porter Grey, revisited the 80's era with retro silhouettes but added a more modern twist with a palette of soft subtle neutrals and muted reds. Enlivened with a pop of Fall florals and tweeds the collection was both rich in texture and filled with somber edginess.
With nods to some of the era's most iconic designers (Laura Ashley, Betsey Johnson, Bill Blass) the Porter Grey collection deftly displayed the designers' talent, as well as their deep knowledge of the stylemakers that have come before.
Succinct, well edited, and with a very clear point of view the collection points towards a very bright future for the label's sibling design team Alexandria and Kristen O'Neil.
