Art by design
Widely regarded as a classic designer for the country club set , and having a country-club pedigree herself, Tory Burch is not a designer one would normally associate with art and the avant garde. However, her Fall 2010 collection which showed at Bryant Park on Wednesday, was huge step in exactly that direction.
The designer explained to Women's Wear Daily that she found her inspiration among "Galleristas, not the usual high society girl".
Whether a cocktail dress paired with rugged boots, or Pollack-print leggings, the art influence was everywhere in the collection which still featured the classic Burch lines fans have come to love.
