Marc Jacobs takes a turn for the subtle for Fall 2010

dreamy dresses ruled the runway at Marc Jacobs/Image: John Acquino for Women's Wear Daily

On time at precisely 8PM, something unheard of at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, attendees  at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 Collection were asked to take their seats along the winding runway. Moments later the show began with Jacobs and business partner Robert Duffy walking out and with little fanfare, removed paper wrapping around the "box" as if opening a shipment of raw materials at their warehouse, and revealed the entire cast of the show standing inside.

As the looks proceeded down the runway, it became clear that Marc Jacobs had done it again, and completely changed the fashion game. His soft silhouettes, pale colors and almost- Springy styles were a much welcomed salve for the soul after a week of harsh temperatures in New York City,  and many harsh neon collections in the tents.
