Fashion feature: Tia Cibani Spring 2013

Lightweight wool gabardines in soft charcoals and navys, crisp white  cotton poplins, and miles of flowing silk chiffon in everything from ombre to plaid gave the Tia Cibani Spring 2013 collection a powerful, dramatic and  luxurious feel befitting a true stage siren.

Viewing the collection sirens of the stage were definitely the first to come to mind (possibly because it was held deep in the subterranean setting of the Atlantic Theater) but the pieces were never overworked, or over styled.  Instead they played on the sharp drama of highlighting a single feature, be it the easy drape of fabric, a peek-a-boo opening at the back of a blouse,  a flowing ruffle skirt, or a sleek and shiny bodice.

Impeccable construction and well thought out editing reminded the viewer that although this was technically Cibani's debut collection with her own label, the designer's many years in the industry, (including the four she spent spear heading Ports 1961) have honed her skills to a master level.

Do you have a photo of the back of the asymmetrical silver (mostly)sleeveless shirt from the top of this feature? I would love to see that!
