From shark bitten fingernails to crystal encrusted corsets The Blonds Spring 2013 runway show was a pull-out-all-the-stops party befitting the brands dynamic duo designers.

image: C.Hope for Style WyldeCentered around a beach party with a darkside edge, or "psycho beach party" as one nail artist backstage described it, the collection had a fantastic array of oceanic inspired corsets, briefs, swimsuits, dresses, and shorts all with trademark The Blonds  touches such as heavy beading and tongue-in-cheek details such as shark bite patterns and lipstick prints. 

Paris Hilton( Lower left) snaps a shot at The Blonds/Image:C.Hope for Style WyldeAlways fashion week's biggest party, this season at The Blonds felt especially festive with the expected crowd of New York socialites, artists, musicians and club kids joined by more than a few TV personalities and even Paris Hilton herself  on hand to cheer (and snap a LOT of iPhone photos) for the collection.

The Blonds 2013 runway show was such a let down this season. I was there. The crowd was more interesting than the clothes. The collection looked the same as it has in many of their past collections. Nothing really new here. If I see another bedazzled corset by them I think Im gonna throw up.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion Niaomi, but I couldn't disagree more. Obviously, we were there too. The Blonds is always a fun, high spirited show, featuring handed beaded and Swarovski crystal encrusted corsets, which are in high demand in the music industry, especially in the performance arena. Saying they've "done corsets before" and "you're gonna throw up if you see another one." Is kinda like saying you really wish Christian Louboutin would get over making shoes. I think if one is expecting super marketable daywear from The Blonds, the collection would be a disappointment. But that's not what the label is about, not even remotely. These whimsical pieces are, for the most part I believe, intended to be worn on stage, not understanding that might definitely cloud one's experience at the show.
