Fashion feature: DRESSEDUNDRESSED Spring 2013
Clean lines in a black and white palette, that played with unexpected masculine and feminine shapes gave the DRESSEDUNDRESSED Spring 2013 collection, which debuted at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo, a stark appeal that was thoroughly refreshing after a week of elaborate design. Relaxed-cut blazers, crisp white shirts and pant-pleated shorts brought a modern suit feel to the looks that sat in sharp contrast with the sleeveless tops, heavy gold chains and bondage-inspired metal harnesses that appeared as the collection evolved from look to look.
With only 18 looks, many of which fell into the unisex category, the collection was a lean-and-mean offering from designers Takeshi Kitazawa and Emiko Sato, whom after only 3 seasons showing on the international "Mercedes-Benz" fashion circuit have been nominated to receive a Woolmark Prize for excellence in design as a next-generation team.
