Rochambeau Fall 2011 packs the punch with bold colors

Crayola box colors, and draped silhouettes are not often phrases used to describe a men's collection where boring button downs and khakis usually rule the day.  But for designers Michael Venker, Joshua Cooper, and Laurence Chandler the creative team behind fledgling label Rochambeau, color and drape rule the day for Fall 2011.

A risky move in the color-shy menswear arena? Definitely.  But taking risks is nothing new for the Rochambeau team who debuted their edgy  not-for-the-average Old Navy-loving-boy collection in Spring 2009, during the dark days of economic recession when many labels were choosing to dial down their participation in Fashion Week, and refocus on mass market consumer appeal.

That initial risk paid off as Rochambeau garnered critical praise that first season, and every season that followed by consistently producing collections that challenge the menswear norms and inject a much needed punch of color into male closets everywhere.
