Diesel Black Gold : Rocky start, to Rockin' finish.

IMAGE: image.netIf it hadn't been for supermodel Stacey McKenzie's company, which kept us in high spirits while fighting off hypothermia in line for the Diesel Black Gold Fall 2010 collection which was mysteriously running very late on Tuesday night, we might have been tempted to forgo the whole affair like uber-editor Anna Wintour is rumored to have done. But thanks to the charming McKenzie, and a few other journalists with whom we huddled, we survived the line, and were able to thaw out in time to take in the  MTV orchestrated affair in all of its denim rock and roll glory.

image via : Women's Wear DailyThe first few pieces to hit the runway felt lackluster, and could barely compete for attention with the numerous celebrities in the audience (including the incredibly good-natured Miss J, from America's Next Top Model Fame-pictured below) but as the show progressed, intricate detailing on denim dresses and skirts, embroidery inserts and chunky knits added interest and a young rock and roll point of view to the collection.

Fall 2010 is the first Diesel Black Gold collection spear headed by new Creative Director Sophia Kokosalaki who previously was known for her hyper feminine dresses worn by Chloe Sevigny, Kirsten Dunst, Christina Ricci and Jennifer Connelly.
