Backstage beauty: Naeem Khan Fall 2012

The final look for Naeem Khan Fall 2012/image:S.Whittle for Style Wylde

image:S.Whittle for Style WyldeUltimate, Hollywood inspired glamour was the task at hand backstage at Naeem Khan Fall 2012, and to get it done the pros from Bumble and bumble, NARS and CND Nails came together to create the perfect beauty look.

Here's what they did, starting with the beauty:

Inspired by 1960's Italian silver screen bombshell Monica Vitti, NARS Director of Global Artistry James Boehner, and his team gave the classic cat eye a modern upgrade by changing up the shape and angle at which the liquid liner was drawn on.  Using the soon to be launched (Fall 2012) Nars Eyeliner Stylos in Black , drew a bold line on the upper lid curving up before the natural corner of the eye to give the look a super-amped quirky 60's feel. The eye was then given added pop with multiple coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara.

The rest of the look was kept minimal by using Nars  Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer instead of a heavy foundation accented with tiny touches of Sex Appeal  (a super-soft peach blush) on the apples, temples, bridge of nose and chin for a flushed, not made-up glow. Finally the lips were given a blotted down stain of Nars Velvet Gloss Lip pencil in More (color to be launched Fall 2012) .

Next up, the nails:

CND Key artist Angi Wingle, gave models a sex-bomb burgundy manicure using CND's devastating rich-red hued BLOODLINE. Sexy and super flattering against the black, white and gold tones in the collection, the color SCREAMED starlet.

Finally for the hair:

Bumble and bumble key stylist Laurent Philippon and his team continued with the sexy, slightly 60's vibe by giving models a "slouchy" french twist, inspired by 1970's French cinema.  To achieve this look hair was back-combed at the crown and set with Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode at the roots to give the twist stability. Hair was then smoothed out all over using a blow dryer and a generous spritz of Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray. Hair was then texturized with a combination of Bumble and bumble Styling Wax, and Bumble and bumble Hair powder, to give hair grip and a "worn out look". Finally hair was twisted up, with stylists concentrating on giving models a "quick, all in one go" finish that appeared self-done, and totally unfussy.
