On our radar: Student Show season kicks off!

May marks the beginning of Student Runway shows at all the area's art schools. Two of our favorites, San Francisco State and CCA, will hit the catwalk before the month is half over.  Details are as follows:

San Francisco State University:

May 1st at the SF Design Center

About the show: "The Apparel Design & Merchandising undergraduates at San Francisco State University are proud to announce their twentieth annual student fashion show, Runway 2014: Provoke. Amaury Perez, show Co-Director and Co-President of the event sponsor, the Fashion Network Association (FNA), enthusiastically states, “Provoke is an appropriate title as we seniors seek to do just that. Staying true to our department’s commitment to sustainability, we are the change that the industry needs in terms of social responsibility and aide our industry shift towards more conscientious actions.”

More information about the event: "The show features 19 new collections created by CCA’s senior Fashion Design students, juried by industry professionals and worn by runway models."

CCA is also happy to announce that this year’s Fashion Show will be the first major public event held in its recently acquired 2.5-acre “back lot” behind the main building. The larger tent will accommodate even more fans of CCA’s fashion students and their work.
