Backstage beauty: Mara Hoffman Fall 2012
Mara Hoffman's Fall 2012 collection, which center on "South American Shaman Cowboys", was a visual feast of color and print, and to create pitch-perfect beauty to match the designer tapped runway make-up pros Make Up For Ever led by key artist Lottie.
Inspired by the collection, Lottie drew inspiration from the 90's and wanted the look to have a "nomadic desert-like feel with sun kissed skin that glowed with metallic highlights."
Here's how Lottie and her team executed the look:
Make Up For Ever Invisible Cover Foundation was applied to give the model's a flawless canvas, and then cheeks were sculpted using Make Up For Ever Mat Bronze on the hollows with a Make Up For Ever Brush #55N. To finish with an all over sun kissed glow, Make Up For Ever shine powder was applied on tops of cheeks and temples, and shine blotted down with Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder in the T-Zone area.
For the bold coppery eye, Make Up For Ever Eye Shadow #17 and Aqua Cream #14 were applied and then blended with Make Up For Ever Star Power #922, #930, and #946. For added metallic pop, Make Up For Ever Metal Powder #2 was applied to the corner of the eye with a wet brush and then an"inside-the water lines" line was drawn with Make Up For Ever Khol Pencil #9. Finally to finish the eye, Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara was used and brows were tamed with Make Up Forv Ever Brow Seal.
So as not to compete with the strong eye look, lips were kept natural with just a hint of shine by using Make Up For Ever Glossy Full #10.
The look was then paired with wild, wooly brushed out curls created by TIGI, and Mara Hoffman print nails by Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas.
