Backstage Beauty: Libertine Fall 2011

The final look/Image:S. Whittle for Style Wylde

The Exquisitely vibrant hand-painted pieces with a heavy dose of punk-meets prep attitude in the Fall 2011 Libertine collection, required a bold but not too over the top beauty look to keep everything in balance. To achieve this, Libertine designer Johnson Hartig called  the professionals: Make Up For Ever Alliance Key Artist Lottie and her team.

Clean, glowing skin and a bold cat eye, with pretty pink lips for a retro-ladylike meets punk rock vibe that gels perfectly with the Libertine point of view.

The process:

Perfect dewy skin was created with sheer foundation, that allowed the natural glow to come through under sculpted cheeks in a natural flush shade.  Dark dramatic eyes, were emphasized with an elongated cat shape created by super matte and black shadow.

The products:

Skin: Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation

Cheeks: Make Up For Ever Sculpting kit

Eyes: Make Up Forever Aqua Black shadow to the upper and lower lashlines to create the 'cat'shape. Make Up For Ever Shadow #4 blended out on the lid, followed by a few coats of Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash for ultimate drama.

Real world readiness: Super dark and dramatic eyes look great at night, but even for day this look is doable. Lottie suggested a thinner cat eye drawn with eyeliner, or even going with just the matte shadow, paired with clean and pretty skin and a neutral lip for a toned down look.
